There are many forums for pupil voice and involvement.
Our children's school council proudly represent their peers and contribute their ideas towards how the school is run and developed.
A group of children from across the school work together after school each week to write their Young Journalist newsletter. They write about the events that they feel have been the highlights of the term. Their newsletter is shared with all the families in our school and is placed on the school website.
Year Six Responsibilities
All of our year six children have a responsibility or job that contributes towards the running of the school. All roles are equal and this is the fundamental value that underpins what they do. Each post holder has a detailed job description and a badge to wear in school. Here is a short summary of what each post holder does;
Health and Safety Officers - We carry out termly monitoring visits across the school. We report back to the senior leadership team and attend governing body meetings to discuss our findings.
Environmental Officers - We carry out termly monitoring visits across the school. We are responsible for eco and environmental projects across the school.
Office Assistants - We carry out administrative duties within both infant and junior schools. We have support the reception staff, senior leadership team's PA and school business manager on a weekly basis.
Digital Leaders - We are responsible for helping to ensure that all IT equipment is stored securely and is kept tidy. We will be the drivers behind E safety week. We support the work of the school communications officer.
House Captains - We are responsible for ensuring that house points are counted every week and awards shared fairly. We promote and lead 'team spirit' during special events such as sports day.
Learning Mentors - We support the learning of younger children on a weekly basis. We help and encourage the children and help them to feel more confident as independent learners and help them to celebrate their successes.
Reading Buddies - We listen to younger children read on a weekly basis. Some year two children come over to our library every Thursday. We are helping their teachers to teach them to read. We record the children's achievements in their reading records.
School Ambassadors - We welcome visitors to our school. We give them a guided tour of the site and explain what goes on, answering any questions that they might have.
Project Managers - We help to organise and help at special events. We have helped JET and the senior leadership team. We will be helping to plan book week next term.
