This term we are reading a book by Louis Sachar called There’s a Boy in the Girls’ Bathroom, as a result, homework this week will be based on a section we have read in class. The author wrote that Bradley’s desk was full of little wads of torn paper, pencil points, chewed erasers and other unrecognisable stuff, all taped together.

Please can you do the following tasks;

  • Draw a picture of Bradley’s desk as you imagine it might look.
  • What would happen at your school if a student sat in a desk such as Bradley’s?
  • If the desk next to yours looked like the author’s description of Bradley’s desk, what would you do? Do you think students should remind and help each other to keep their desks in good order? Why or why not?

Spicy: Cut out four photographs from today’s newspaper. See if you can make up new captions for them. Choose one to write an opening paragraph that includes who, where, what, when and why (from your imagination).

Extra Spicy: Cut out a picture from today's newspaper. Make up a new caption for it. Write a newspaper report to go with your picture. (This can be from your imagination). Remember to use the 5ws, quotes and a summary paragraph.
