Welcome to

Please choose a piece of work from this terms topic grid.

(all 3 levels in the same document)

__Maths__

We have been reviewing our previous learning this week.

Homework is to go on Times Table Rockstars (or any other way to practise improving rapid recall of the multiplication and division facts to 12 x 12) for 15 minutes.

Also choose **one** of these maths activities to complete.

- Use 1, 2, 3, 4 (all the digits) and the symbols +, -, ÷, x (any) to make the numbers 1 to 30. How many can you make? E.g. (3 x 5) + 1 + 2= 18.
- How many ways can you make these target numbers using addition, subtraction, multiplication or division (or a mixture of these?)

- 99
- 27
- 103

Please pick another subject from the mexico home list

Apologies for the late upload

Over the last few weeks, we have been learning how to add and subtract and to multiply fractions-including mixed numbers and improper fractions- by whole numbers. We have also simplified fractions and converted improper fractions to mixed numbers.

E.g. ¼ + 2/4 = ¾

11/4 + 2/4 = 13/4 = 3 ¼

Please choose a topic from the topic sheet.

Your homework for half term is to read and to do regular times table revision, such as going on to Times Table Rockstars.

Have a good half term!

Have lovely Christmas holiday Year 5!

Don't forget to keep reading and keep playing on Times Table Rockstars though.

Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Year 5 team.

Please note that as the homework is not going out until today, it will not be due in until Wednesday, for this week only.

This is the final week of the Tudor project, so please choose your last piece of work from the list.

Choose the task/s that you want to practice from the documents below.

__Maths__

We have been learning about area and perimeter. We have found out quick ways of calculating the area of rectangles and squares. We have also found the area and perimeter of compound rectilinear shapes (shapes made up of rectangles and squares put next to each other).

Show me what you know about area and perimeter. Explain the difference between them and important things to remember.

__Topic__

It's week 3 of your project. Please pick another item from the topic sheet.

__Tudor Topic__

Please pick another piece of homework from the sheet given last week.

__Maths__

Please complete the relevant sheet from the documents below - O, OO, OOO

__Maths__

This week we have been learning about the importance of place value when multiplying a number by 10, 100 and 1000. Draw a poster for a Year 4 child to explain what we must do when multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000.

**Challenge**: what do we do for decimals?

Times Table Rockstars. A 'Battle of the Bands' has been set up and your class is competing against another class from Year 5. Who will win? Every activity you complete over half term will add to your competition. Which class will have the most points overall? Remember, your teacher can see who has accessed the site.

If you want to do a bit extra, we will be looking at how Willesborough has changed over time next term. We will then focus on the Tudors. You can start researching when the Tudor period begins and ends and who the Tudor monarchs were.
