Uniform Information

Girls 

Plain white cotton shirt or a white polo shirt;  school tie (optional)

Bottle green sweatshirt, cardigan or V-necked jumper preferably with the school logo;

Grey or black school uniform-style skirt (to be knee length or longer) or grey or black school uniform-style trousers or tailored shorts (not jogging trousers, jeans or flared styles);

Plain white socks with skirts or dresses and plain black or grey socks with trousers, or green or grey coloured tights (not sheer-nylon tights);

green or yellow checked gingham dress may be worn in the summer term.

 

Boys 

Plain white cotton shirt or a white polo shirt;  school tie (optional);

Bottle green sweatshirt or V-necked jumper preferably with the school logo;

Grey or black school uniform-style trousers or school uniform style shorts (not jogging trousers, jeans or flared styles);

Plain black or grey socks (without motifs)

 

In particular, please note that:

Grey or black cardigans, sweatshirts and jumpers are not school uniform.

Footwear

Sensible, black school-type shoes should be worn.  Heels must be no higher than 1” (2.5 cm). Open toe sandals, trainers, slip-ons, boots and shoes with ‘kitten-heels’ are not allowed.

 

PE Kit for both boys and girls:

 Both boys and girls need:-

  •      dark green shorts
  •      a WJS T-shirt
  •      a pair of plimsolls 

 For outdoor lessons:-

  •      a green track suit
  •      a pair of trainers

 

As part of our health education we promote an active lifestyle and PE lessons are held both in the school hall and on the playgrounds or school field throughout the year.  Please ensure your child has their PE kit in a drawstring bag, clearly marked with your child’s name.  PE kit should be in school at all times and should be taken home at weekends for washing.

 

Hair

Shoulder length and long hair, for both girls and boys, must always be tied back.  Pupils must not wear extreme hair fashions which are designed to attract attention, including brightly coloured hair and images or lines cut into the hair. Hair ties, clips and bands must be discrete and of uniform colours.
