Allocation of Houses
The school is divided into four houses: St Andrew, St David, St George and St Patrick
Children are allocated a house when they start in the Year 3 or when they join the school at a later stage. Where possible children of the same family will be allocated the same house, whilst ensuring that the number of children is fairly balanced between each house. All staff are also allocated a house. Each house has an elected House Captain and Vice Captain from Year 6.
Allocation of House Points
Any member of staff can award House Points to any child, at any time as a reward for displaying positive attitudes to work, community or wider aspects of school life. The expectation is that children will be loyal to their House and try their best to earn points for their House by displaying good behaviour and attitudes. For each House Point awarded, children are given a House Point ‘ticket’ which is placed in a collection box in their year group area. These are then counted at the end of the week and collated across the school by the House Captains. The weekly totals are displayed on the house notice board where all children are able to view them.
The House Captains collect and count up the house points weekly in preparation for the Monday celebration assembly when the weekly winners will be announced.
All children represent their house when they participate in our annual Sports Day/s. A shield is awarded to the winning House.
